Spring is Here

We are enjoying the start of spring. Linsey is enjoying sporting her new sandals right before she ran some errands with Daddy. She is beginning to walk a few steps by herself and slowly gaining more confidence. She enjoys telling waving at everybody and telling them "bye-bye." Thank God everyday for your children, and model Christ to them. I am reminded that the early years they are absorbing so much and taking in everything around them. Pray for them daily.

Why wait until "Sweet 16" for first car?

Okay, so it was half price at Toys R Us, and we couldn't resist. It's so her, and a whole lot cheaper than a VW bug. She loves it and we do the steering. Oh, and another thing superb gas mileage.

One year passes too quick

Today was Linsey's birthday party. We had a good group of friends and family here and she enjoyed the cake. I guess she's her daddy's girl. As her father this has been the most memorable year of my life. She depends on me and Kim for everything. We have the privilege of raising her, and the awesome responsibility of modeling–following Christ, so she will know Him one day. It's one thing to talk about God to your kids, but they have to see that He is first in our lives. This realization has really come home today for me.

Are You Living or Spending Your Life?

As we begin 2007, I think all of us who are followers of Jesus should ask–"Will I live this year for God, or spend it on myself?" Live it, or spend it. That is what we do with every second we are given. We forget time is a valuable resource. I desire this year to so deepen my relationship with God that He will have the freedom to do the supernatural, the impossible through me as a result of my really putting Him first. This is not just lip service here. There are no short cuts, God says in Jeremiah 29:13 says "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." All of our heart–all of us. Jesus Himself said to love God with all our heart, soul and mind when asked what the greatest commandment was.

So will I? Will you? It is my commitment to not neglect my relationship with God. That is where the strength comes from. How many opportunities do we overlook each day. How long transpires in the day without you giving our Father even a thought? For me it is too long. I cannot expect God to be first, if I do not put Him first. My desire is that I would invest this year and live really live-God's way.

Linsey Meets Santa Claus

Merry Christmas everyone. Linsey got to meet Santa this week. It's Christmas Eve and we are enjoying time together with family. We hope you experience the real meaning of Christmas this year. God became man so we could be reconciled to Him and relate to Him. That is exactly what the celebration of Christmas is all about.

Grove Park Inn Gingerbread Houses

We enjoyed the annual Gingerbread House competition that takes place at Asheville's historic Grove Park Inn. The work is really incredible. Over 200 works of art come in from around the country and hours are put in to each one. The inn itself is a true work of art, visit www.groveparkinn.com/Leisure for a look at it.

Heavy Rains Make Clear Creek–not so Clear and High

With all the heavy rain we've been having, over the last 24 hours, we have seen Clear Creek crest its banks and is flowing fast and muddy. The area behind our house is a watershed for the creek. We'll have to keep an eye on it. Good thing just a few things are in our unfinished basement.

Linsey takes Atlanta

Traveled this weekend with our friends to Atlanta. We were able to secure standing room only tickets. They played Boston, and lost 4 to 1. This was Linsey's first baseball game. She cried a great deal, however eventually calmed down. Saturday we went to the laser show at Stone Mountain and this morning went to Northpointe Community Church. They have a really cool preschool and nursery area. Wamba land, looks safari like and very guest friendly.

Goodbye to a Dear Friend

Tomorrow, after 9 years with us, our Shih tzu will be in a new home. We are sad to say goodbye, but due to the baby, taking such a tremendous amount of time we have found him a new home so he can have the attention he deserves. We prayed God would provide him a new home and He led us to someone who loves animals, and owns her own kennel.

Western North Carolina

Having lived here for three years, we really enjoy the area. There are so many great things to do in one of our favorite areas of the country. Hendersonville is nestled at 2300 feet above sea level in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. It is about 18 miles south of Asheville and sees four distinct seasons each year. Recently we got the only stadium seating Movie theater in the area and it's about 10 minutes from us! We enjoy the many hiking opportunities and many of the beautiful waterfalls that surround us. Many of our friends and family have come and visited us over the last three years and we enjoy showing them around. More soon.

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."-Romans 1:20
